2007-Present Manager, Sector Communications Operations Northrop Grumman Integrated Systems Responsible for the day-to-day operations of running the business management of the communications function. Includes budget oversight of $2.7m in direct and overhead charges and oversight of $6m in advertising placement. This position also includes analysis of earned media from press releases and direct pitches; valuation and efficacy of media and advertising as well as evaluating new media (such as RSS subscriptions, news aggrators, podcasting and vodcasting) as it becomes available to our media professionals. As Webmaster for the sector, completely redesigned and re-architectured the external Website (www.is.northropgrumman.com ) from initial concepts through completion. 2004 – 2007 Manager, Sector Internal Communications Northrop Grumman Integrated Systems Responsible for all employee communications including the twice monthly newsletter, The Integrator, all management announcements and memos, as well as the sector intranet. Manages and oversees six employees that are placed in locations around the country. Responsible for approximately $450,000 yearly budget for in-house print, video and graphic services. This position requires daily consultation with senior leadership within the sector as well as with the corporate parent. The Integrator publishes 16 pages twice a month and consists of staff and freelance written articles which require the same amount of care and due diligence as a public publication since it serves our government and international customers as well as employees. 2003 – 2004 Director (Acting), Sector Communications Northrop Grumman Integrated Systems Appointed to handle the day-to-day operations of the sector communications department; supervised 14 personnel in a highly visible communications organization. Responsible for $1.2M departmental budget with an additional $7M (exhibits and advertising) oversight and budget management. Instituted streamlined communications procedures for external media activities. This position required significant interaction with the sector’s senior leadership as well as leadership at the corporate level. 1999 -- 2003 Manager, Sector Advertising/Marketing Communications Northrop Grumman Integrated Systems Creative liaison between corporate, business areas and product groups, responsibilities included creating a common look and feel for all collateral materials with logical tie-ins to video and the Internet. Achievements included developing, maintaining and trafficking all international, national and community advertising within the sector. Managed $2.3 million national and local advertising budget. Met ten percent cost reduction goals. Participated in Joint Strike Fighter marketing communications team to create advertising creative direction, goals and mileposts for an aviation program with potential revenue of $300 billion. Established and maintained sector-wide marketing intranet site. Established and maintained Internet site (www.is.northropgrumman.com ) which has over 4,500,000 unique visitors per month. Customers included internal, executives to members of congress to military leaders. 1996 -- 1999 Manager, Marketing Communications Northrop Grumman Corporation, Military Aircraft Systems Division Accomplishments included creation and supervision of a wide range of marketing materials in all media: brochures, videotapes, presentations and briefings, web site development and newsletters. Developed standard exhibit/tradeshow plan. Developed and maintained division tradeshow participation including budget and show-site supervision. Developed advertising plans, copy and layout for business development integrated product teams. Responsible for $1.6M marketing/advertising budget. Products included: B-2 Stealth Bomber, F/A-18 Hornet and Super Hornet, F-14 Tomcat, F-5 Tiger IV, Joint Strike Fighter and aerial targets. 1992 --1996 Producer/Writer/Director Northrop Grumman Corporation, B-2 Division Responsible for creation, development and delivery of a variety of training, marketing and special interest videotapes. Work required understanding highly complex technical issues within a classified environment. Highly involved in design and programming multi-media programs as part of a team. Received recognition from International Television Association Gold, Silver and Blue Ribbon awards for programs completed at the B-2 Division. Worked on steering committee for the development of interactive multimedia within the corporation. Responsible for client meetings at all levels of the corporation, budget preparation, scriptwriting, production breakdown and scheduling, pre-production, supervision of editing, obtaining necessary client approvals, follow-through and distribution of final product. 1990 -- 1991 Production Associate/Assistant to the Producer U.T.L. Productions/ Dick Clark Productions/Steve White Productions Worked intimately with the producer and associate producer in budgeting, casting and crewing made-for-television motion picture: Death Dreams (Lifetime/ABC Ultra/Dick Clark Productions). Dealt closely with executives of major broadcasting network companies. Involved in every step of production. As uncredited post-production supervisor, supervised the budget and delivered the entire post production effort significantly under budget. Worked in various capacities of production office to assist with the production start-up, crewing, post-production of several movies of the week. On set experience includes: What Ever Happened to Baby Jane (ABC). Post-production: A Mom for Christmas (NBC, Disney) and The Chase (NBC). Script breakdown and scheduling for And Then She Was Gone (CBS). 1986 -- 1990 Creative Director/Executive Producer Grayson Hollingsworth Communications ImageMatrix Creative Director responsibilities included developing all communication elements (print, video, film and/or multi-image) from concept through presentation. This encompassed creation and direction of concepts, overall look and design for programming for: live broadcasts; live meeting presentations (speeches and slide/video support); directing live talent; creating and programming various media including electronic/computer video speech support; animation support (MacroMedia Director); directing and programming video wall software and technology; and slide/overhead creation and programming. 1985 -- 1986 Senior Staff Writer Creative Communications Group Created live meeting, audiovisual, video and film proposals and scripts. This encompassed proposal development, speeches, audiovisual and film scripts and programs for national sales meetings, industrial training films and management training programs for Fortune 500 Corporations. Included: executive speech writing; directing executive presentations; directing live talent; video wall creative direction; speech support (slide) direction and programming; slide module creation, programming and presentation; film/video module creation, writing, directing, producing and delivery; supervised a staff of up to 85 personnel. 1985 Screenwriter AGH Productions Developed first draft original screenplay for low budget, high adventure motion picture production. First draft screenplay of Getting Even was delivered in fifteen days. Rewrite completed and approved within four days. (Currently available through Vestron Video and Samuel Goldwyn Jr. Presents, Inc.) Extensive experience working with business, sales and media personnel for national advertising/media placement.
